사회학과에서는 국내외 사회학계의 연구 동향을 탐색하고, 교수-대학원생 간에 학문적 대화를 촉진하고자 올해부터 매학기 3~4회의 콜로키엄을 개최합니다.
올해 네 번째 콜로키엄에는, 미시건대 사회학과 김재은 교수님을 초청해 그동안 쌓아오신 연구성과와 현재적 관심사에 대해 공유하는 시간을 마련할 예정입니다.

○ 발표자 소개
Jaeeun Kim (김재은) is Korea Foundation Endowed Associate Professor of Sociology and Professor of Law (by Courtesy) at the University of Michigan. She studies race/ethnicity/nationalism and migration/citizenship from a comparative-historical and transnational perspective. Kim is the author of an award-winning book, Contested Embrace: Transborder Membership Politics in Twentieth-Century Korea (Stanford University Press 2016). Her article "Migration-Facilitating Capital: A Bourdieusian Theory of International Migration" (Sociological Theory 2018) won the Theory Prize from the American Sociological Association. She received her BA in law and MA in sociology from Seoul National University and PhD in sociology from UCLA.
