안녕하세요,

사회학과에서는 국내외 사회학계의 연구 동향을 탐색하고, 교수-대학원생 간에 학문적 대화를 촉진하고자 올해부터 매학기 3~4회의 콜로키엄을 개최합니다.
올해 첫 번째 콜로키엄에는, 이화여자대학교의 김현수(Harris Hyunsoo Kim) 교수님을 초청해 그동안 쌓아오신 연구성과와 현재적 관심사에 대해 공유하는 시간을 마련할 예정입니다.

○ 발표자 소개
Harris Hyun-soo Kim is Professor of Sociology at Ewha Womans University. His primary research interests are social capital/networks, economic sociology of immigration, health inequality, civic & political participation, and social dilemmas. Some of his more recent work has been published in, among other outlets, Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Social Socience & Medicine, Social Forces, Group Processes & Intergroup Relations, The Gerontologist, and International Journal of Comparative Sociology. In addition to using secondary data, he has conducted original surveys in China (Yanbian), Uzbekistan (Tashkent), Laos (Vientiance), and Korea (Seoul). Professor Kim received graduate training in sociology at Columbia University, where he worte a master's thesis on comparative economic development, and at the University of Chicago where he completed his dissertation on the role of social networks in labor market inequality among legal service providers.
